Rivington - Never Known Fog Like It
Day 10 of the PremierHop advent calendar threw us this curveball. A 5.2% NE Pale Ale hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe and Chinook. Neither of us had had much from Rivington in the past, so what would we make of this?

I really lucked out on guessing first today, it was a generous 500ml can and of the two breweries that I could think of that do 500s, we had already had a DEYA, so I think it fair if Mr Finn feels cheated. But nobody could feel cheated by this NE Pale. The hop billing was supreme and provided wave after wave of citrusy delight interspersed by slightly burny bitterness and dank notes. This is a beer you could have at any time and never be disappointed with. I am almost at a loss for words to describe how wonderful this pale ale is.

The good people over at Rivington Brewing Co. have created a thing of beauty in 'Never Known Fog'. Whilst beergeeks, including myself, love to harp on about big beers - I'm talking 16% BA pastry stouts or 13% quadruple IPAs, I think when a table, session or pale has been crafted with such finesse then it really can hold its own.
Whatsmore, not everyone either wants or has the means to spend £16 on a 500ml can of Scandinavian lassi gose but here we have something that is just as mindblowing, in my opinion, and yet affordable and accessible for newcomers.
I second all of Jackie boy's comments above on the flavours and can only add that this was an absolute delight. I have since acquired another can and one of their IPAs to try.
