Advent Calendar Day 4

Folkingebrew and Frontaal - Frontyard

Day four revealed this continental gem. An 8.5% NE DIPA hopped to high heaven with Warrior, Strata, Talus and Citra. After a slightly perplexing day 3, this might have been just the ticket.

Jack

It will surprise absolutely no-one to hear that I was a very happy boy when I tore off the brown paper wrapper to reveal the words NE DIPA. I had my suspicions that the people at Premier Hop would reward our first Friday on the calendar with a big bruiser, and this bashed me about like Toby Henderson did at Primary School. Unlike back then, this bashing was very pleasant. Talus is becoming a firm favourite hop of mine and we all know citra and strata are capable of magic, and what magic. This was bitter, but floral, fruity and fresh. The booze count was just right for a Friday night, by far the best beer to come out of the calendar to date.

Yes, yes, yes this hit the spot like Dr Pimple Popper. Like Jack says, what more do you really want on a Friday night than a New England Double IPA - jam packed with zingy citrus, passionfruit, guava, a bit of floral perfumery from the Talus and whatever Warrior brings to the table (a hangover?!) this was rad to say the least. A first from Folkingebrew for both of us and my first non-stout Frontaal experience - I will most certainly be keeping my peepers open for more from these two!!

Score - 4.25
